Team Explosion captures gold medal at Bugarski Cup

Local NewsTeam Explosion captures gold medal at Bugarski Cup

Team Explosion, representing the Brant Youth Volleyball Club, captured a gold medal in the U-15 division at the Bugarski Cup on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Explosion opened the tournament with a straight sets victory over the Toronto Reach Rise and continued their winning ways in their final round robin match, defeating the Hamilton MVC Fuji, 25-18, 25-21.

Explosion started the playoffs against the Niagara Athletics, winning the first set before dropping set number two. Explosion bounced back in the third set, winning 15-10 to advance to the semifinals.

Team Explosion battled the Guelph Junior Gryphons for a spot in the gold medal match, easily winning in straight sets, 25-17, 25-21.

In the championship match, they took on the Niagara Rapids with Explosion taking the first set, 25-15. The Rapids responded in the second, winning 25-19 to force a third and deciding set. In the third set, Explosion narrowly edged out a 15-11 win on their way to the championship.
