Six Nations Police charge commercial vehicle driver

The operator of a commercial vehicle has been charged following a complaint received from the public.  

Six Nations Police were advised of an impaired driving complaint at a public community area at approximately 4:05 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Police were provided information that the driver of a commercial vehicle was suspected to be impaired at the location. The operator was transporting a large group of people attending an event at the location and witnesses refused to be transported after suspecting that the driver was impaired.

Police arrived on scene and spoke to witnesses who identified the driver. Police approached and spoke with the driver and signs of impairment were observed by the officers. The driver admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages before operating the vehicle. 

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Leslie KARPATFI, 65-years-old) of Hamilton, ON with the following criminal offences:

– Impaired Operation 

– Alcohol per se Offence “80 plus” 

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, Ontario on November 7, 2024. The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
