Brant OPPSingle-vehicle collision leads to Impaired Driving charges

A 19-year-old from Oxford County is facing charges after a Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member investigated a single-vehicle collision in the County of Brant early Thursday morning.

On Thursday August 10, 2023, at approximately 1:51 a.m., an officer with the Brant County OPP responded to a collision at a County of Brant property on King Edward Street in the town of Paris. One person was arrested and transported to Norfolk County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 19-year-old Jamie ROUNDS, from Oxford County with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
