The Ontario government announced today it will spend $4.86 million to help create supportive housing in Brantford.

The money will provide culturally appropriate support services to Indigenous community members, including Brantford Native Housing, says the press release.

Located at 309 Campbell Street in Brantford, the property “will represent a powerful new beginning,” said Alma Arguello, executive director of Brantford Native Housing, in the release. “It will expand our capacity to welcome more women and their children, offering space for counselling, in-house programming, youth mentorship, Elder engagement, and holistic, culturally grounded care all rooted in the Indigenous ways of healing and community.”
