Police charge Brantford man with Operation while Impaired

Brantford Police received a call from a concerned citizen to advise of a possible impaired driver travelling on Highway 403 at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
Officers located the vehicle at the intersection of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Henry Street and conducted a traffic stop.
In speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. An approved roadside screening device was administered which resulted in a reading of “FAIL”. 
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were approximately three times the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 57-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
•  Over 80
•  Operation while Impaired 
Additionally, the accused was served a 90-day administrative drivers licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days as part of the administrative penalties under the Highway Traffic Act.
