Brant OPPPedestrian dead after Sunday hit-and-run in Brant County: police

Ontario Provincial Police say a pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run in Brant County early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a person laying on Muir Rd. North shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Brant OPP say the person suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Kevin Lee TAYLOR from Hamilton.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team are continuing to investigate.

Const. Ed Sanchuk says the Ford pickup truck involved in this incident did not remain at the scene and investigators are encouraging the driver to contact police.

He says the truck has damage to the front right corner and is missing a passenger mirror.

“Automotive repair facilities, scrap yards or local repair outlets are being encouraged to contact authorities if a vehicle matching the above description was recently being repaired or if any parts were sold for a passenger side mirror,” Sanchuk said.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been travelling through the area of Muir Rd. North between Second Concession Rd. and Third Concession Rd. between 12 a.m. and 1:20 a.m. to contact police if they saw anything suspicious.

Anyone with information regarding this hit-and-run is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
