Paris Seniors Club 99 made a $3,000 donation to support the Wilkin Family Community Centre on Monday, December 9, 2024.
Established to provide a welcoming space for seniors to connect, socialize, and engage in recreational activities, the Paris Seniors Club 99 has long been a cornerstone of community life in Paris. This donation marks their dedication to supporting a facility that will continue to serve as a hub for activities and connections for years to come.
“The Paris Seniors Club 99 is proud to support the Wilkin Family Community Centre,” said Brenda Carballo, President of the Paris Seniors Club 99. “This facility will not only honor our history but will also provide a space for generations to come to gather, celebrate, and engage in meaningful activities. We are excited to see this vision come to life.”
“Thank you to the Paris Seniors Club 99 for their contribution to this project,” added David Bailey, Mayor for the County of Brant. “This donation reflects their commitment to fostering a sense of community and belonging for seniors and residents across Brant. We are grateful for their ongoing support.”
The Wilkin Family Community Centre will feature approximately 2,055 square feet of indoor space. As Brant’s first net-zero building, it will offer indoor and outdoor recreation, social activities, family gatherings, and cultural events. The new facility will house the Paris Lawn Bowling Club and Paris Seniors Club 99, continuing a legacy of community connection.
With a construction cost of $1.6 million, the fundraising campaign aims to raise $400,000 to reduce the financial impact on the municipality. Since March 2024, donations have been actively sought, with naming opportunities available for various features. Donors will be recognized on the Donor Wall in the Centre’s Great Room.
