John Silverthorn of Paris is $100,000 richer after winning a top prize on the 3X FORTUNE scratch ticket.
Silverthorn, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for nearly 20 years. A daily player, he enjoys a variety of games including LOTTO MAX, POKER LOTTO, and a range of instant tickets. The father of one is now thrilled to share the news of first big win.
“I was buying tickets as part of my regular routine and randomly chose this one,” he recalled, during his visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.
When he returned home and played his ticket, he couldn’t believe his eyes. “I was shocked!” he said. “I scanned it multiple times, just to be sure that what I was looking at was right.”
Once he had confirmed his win, John revealed the exciting news to his sister and brother-in-law.
“They were stunned and happy for me at the same time,” Silverthorn said.
With his windfall, he plans to invest and save for the future.
“Becoming a winner was very surprising,” he added. “It’s made me feel relaxed, but at the same time, I still can’t believe it!”
