Arts and EntertainmentOutdoor concert series returns to Bell Homestead in June

Bell Homestead’s outdoor concert series is returning in June with the Time to Sing Concert and Summer Serenade Concert with performances by local singers and musicians.

“June is a beautiful time of year to enjoy the outdoor summer concert series on the verandah of the historic Bell Homestead,” said Brian Wood, Curator of the Bell Homestead National Historic Site. “These concerts aim to showcase local talented musicians and singers with music that highlights the 150th anniversary of the telephone.”

The Time to Sing Concert, takes place on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3 p.m. The talented Brant County Singers will kick off the Bell Homestead’s outdoor music series singing songs that were enjoyed by the Bell family. This event is free to attend but donations are appreciated and will go towards Brant Food for Thought.

The Summer Serenade Concert takes place on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 7 p.m. The Brantford Memorial Concert Band will perform instrumental music to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the telephone. Donations are accepted for this free outdoor concert in support of the Brantford School of Instrumental Music. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 3 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket with them to enjoy the concerts. The Exchange Café will be open to enjoy a variety of delicious home baked goods, ice-cream or beverages. The Phone Booth Museum Store will also be open to purchase a souvenir, vintage item or gift.
