OPP assisting Six Nations Police with death investigation

Six Nations Police Service (SNPS) has requested the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch with a death investigation on Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

An individual was located with life-threatening injuries on the side of the road of Fourth Line Road near Mohawk Road in the Township of Tuscarora at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024.

The individual was transported by Ornge air ambulance to a hospital, where the individual succumbed to their injuries on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

A postmortem is scheduled at the Centre of Forensic Sciences at a later date.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services and West Region Emergency Response Team, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Updates will be provided when available.

Residents in the area will continue to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
