One person dead after multi-vehicle collision on Hwy. 403

Brant OPPOne person dead after multi-vehicle collision on Hwy. 403

One person has been pronounced deceased after a four-vehicle collision on Highway 403 in the County of Brant last week.

Members from Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), County of Brant Fire Department and Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services responded to a collision on Highway 403 in the County of Brant at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 20, 2023.

It was determined that two passenger vehicles and two commercial motor vehicles were involved. Four parties were transported to area hospitals where one person was later pronounced deceased by attending physicians.

The deceased has been identified as a 74-year-old from Woodstock.

Highway 403 was closed for approximately seven hours while emergency crews and investigators were on scene.

OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team members continue to investigate the collision and charges are anticipated. Police are asking anyone who owns a dash camera and may have been in the area between or anyone with information to assist the investigation, to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
