Ohsweken woman wins $200,000 with instant ticket

Local NewsOhsweken woman wins $200,000 with instant ticket

Sally Henhawk of Ohsweken is $200,000 richer after winning a top prize on an instant scratch ticket.

Henhawk, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for decades. She enjoys playing a variety of instant and jackpot games. The mother and grandmother’s favourite game is CROSSWORD, but it was a RUBY SOLITAIRE ticket that led her to her first big win.

“On the day I won, I was with my family, celebrating my grandson’s birthday. That evening, I decided to play my ticket and thought I’d won $20,” Henhawk said, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her windfall. “I showed my ticket to my husband, and he was the one who said, ‘No–you won $200,000!’ I was shocked! I’d never won a big prize before. It was a wonderful surprise. While it’s taken some time process this win, we are so happy.”

With her winnings, Sally plans to help her children, invest for her retirement, and travel.
