Ohsweken resident charged with Attempted Murder

CrimeOhsweken resident charged with Attempted Murder

Members of the Six Nations  Police responded to a reported assault at a residence on Bicentennial Trail at approximately 1:12 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

The investigation determined that an interaction occurred between individuals inside of a residence, during which two individuals were assaulted. One individual was able to ask for help from neighbours nearby. The individual sustained severe injuries and was taken to a local area hospital. Prior to police arrival, the suspect had been detained by the neighbouring witnesses.  

As a result, a 31-year-old from Ohsweken, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences: 

– Attempted murder x 2 

– Aggravated Assault 

– Assault with Weapon 

– Assault 

– Breach Probation x 2 

– Weapon: Possession for Dangerous Purpose 

– Obstruct Peace Officer 

– Strangulation 

To protect the identity of the victims, the accused will not be named. The accused was  held in custody and was remanded to a later court date.
