Brant OPPOhsweken man facing several charges after traffic stop

A 42-year-old from Ohsweken is facing charges after a Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member conducted a traffic stop in the County of Brant early Monday morning.

An officer with the Brant County OPP initiated a traffic stop on Newport Road after observing a vehicle traveling on Cockshutt Road at approximately 12:04 a.m. on Monday July 31, 2023.

One person was arrested and transported to Brant County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 42-year-old Brandon MARTIN, from Ohsweken with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand and

·        Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
