Brant OPPNorfolk County resident facing multiple charges after traffic complaint

A 57-year-old from Norfolk County is facing charges after a concerned citizen contacted Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a traffic complaint in the County of Brant Saturday afternoon.

An officer with the Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Oakland Road in the County of Brant at approximately 3:24 p.m. on Saturday October 14, 2023.

A motorist observed driving behaviour that caused them concern and contacted police. Police located the vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to Brant County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 57-year-old Leighton WALSH, from Norfolk County with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),

·        Dangerous Operation and

·        Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
