A 28-year-old from Norfolk County is facing charges after an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team member initiated a traffic stop in the County of Brant Saturday evening.

An officer with OPP West Region TIME team conducted a traffic stop on Indian Line Road in the County of Brant. One person was arrested and transported to Brant County detachment for testing at approximately 7:31 p.m. on Saturday December 9, 2023.

Police have charged 28-year-old Matt LEFLER, from Norfolk County with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),

·        Novice driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero,

·        Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available,

·        Drive without proper headlights – motor vehicle,

·        Driver fail to surrender licence,

·        Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle and

·        Fail to surrender insurance card.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
