Mount Pleasant man charged with stunt driving

A 40-year-old Mount Pleasant man stands charged with stunt driving after caught travelling 104 kms/hour in a 50 km/hour zone.

Patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service were conducting road safety enforcement for speeding violations on Mount Pleasant Road near Pleasant Crescent at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022.

This area is a posted 50km/hr zone. 

police observed the motor vehicle travelling east bound on Mount Pleasant Road, at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. Officers utilized a radar speed monitoring device, and the vehicle recorded a speed of 104 km/hr in the posted 50 km/hr zone. A traffic stop was conducted. 

As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old man from Mount Pleasant stands charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

As required by law, as part of the offence of stunt driving, the vehicle was seized and towed for 14 days as part of the administrative suspension penalty and the accused was also issued 30-day administrative drivers license suspension.
