Brant OPPMotorcycle driver killed after two-vehicle collision

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 53, west of Burford. 

Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Highway 53 in the County of Brant shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

As a result of the incident, the motorcycle driver, a 28-year-old male from Woodstock was pronounced deceased. 

Middle Townline Road was closed between Sixth Concession Road and Seventh Concession Road, and Highway 53 was closed between Lawrence Road and Harley Road in Brant for several hours for the investigation but has since reopened.

Police are asking anyone who may have been travelling on Highway 53 in the area of Middle Townline Road prior to the collision and observed the motorcycle, or who has dashcam footage of the motorcycle in the moments leading up to the incident, to contact the Brant County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
