Team Vortex and Team Synergy of the Brant Youth Volleyball Club had a solid showing at the McGregor Cup on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

Team Vortex captured the gold medal while Team Synergy brought home silver in the U-14 division of the one-day tournament.

Team Vortex entered the tournament as the number one seed, opening the tournament with consecutive wins against Cambridge and Grimsby before heading into the playoffs, where they won their first two matches in straight sets.

Team Vortex faced their first bit of adversity in the championship final, where they split the first two sets, heading into a championship-deciding third set. In the set, Vortex was down 9-3 but stormed all the way back to win 15-13 on their way to the gold medal.

In the final, Team Synergy, once again, ran into the Express Rockets, losing in straight sets, 25-8, 25-15 but earned a silver medal along the way.
