Jaycees Brantford Non-Profit Housing Corporation (JC Homes) announced major donations to the Bridge to Home campaign at a donor celebration event held on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
These donors have helped raise over $755,000, more than 50 per cent of the campaign goal.
In the first seven months of the campaign for the affordable, women-led housing apartment complex in the heart of Brantford at 32 Bridge Street, four major donors have helped achieve this milestone.
Donald and Jo-Anne Wilkin, through the Donald and Jo-Anne Wilkin Fund at the Brant Community Foundation, have donated $150,000 to the fundraising campaign.
“It is wonderful to know that our contribution will change the life of women and their families as they find an affordable home at 32 Bridge St.,” said Donald and Jo-Anne Wilkin. “It’s not just about housing, it’s about providing hope and a new beginning for families.”
Millards Chartered Professional Accountants were the first donors to the campaign and have committed $82,000 to the initiative.
“Providing support to a project that helps to address one of our most serious social issues here in Brantford, the lack of affordable housing, was the right thing to do,” said Darin Cleary, Partner at Millards. “It was an easy decision for the firm, partners and staff to make this five-year commitment to the Bridge to Home Campaign.”
Darren & Taylor Neziol – ROI Group have generously donated $50,000.
“This is a much-needed affordable housing project,” said Darren and Taylor Neziol. ”Not only will it provide housing for women-led families, it will offer community gathering space and social enterprise initiatives.”
Ron and Joan Underwood and Family have pledged $250,000 to the fundraising effort.
“This is a compelling opportunity for individuals, businesses and the community to come together to build something that can change lives,” said Ron and Joan Underwood. “We hope our gift to the Bridge to Home Campaign will inspire you to make an investment in 32 Bridge Street.”
“We are so grateful for the generosity of these four amazing donors,” said Campaign Chair Michael Lefebvre. “These substantial contributions will play a significant role in reaching the $1,500,000 fundraising campaign goal.”
The cost to build the complex is $10.6 million, with a fundraising goal of $1,500,000. Construction is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2026.
