Impaired driver charged after traffic complaint

Brant OPPImpaired driver charged after traffic complaint

A 61-year-old from the County of Brant has been arrested after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Brant County Detachment members responded to a traffic complaint Saturday evening in the County of Brant.

Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 24 South in the County of Brant at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday August 26, 2023.

The caller observed driving behaviour that caused them to be concerned and contacted police. Police located the vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to Brantford Police Service for testing.

Police have charged 61-year-old William Walter JACOBS, from the County of Brant with the following offences:

Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
