The Grand Erie District School Board is pleased to announce that it has reached a tentative agreement with the Grand Erie District School Board Elementary Occasional Teacher Local.

The Agreement between the Board and the Grand Erie District School Board Elementary Occasional Teacher Local covers the period of September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2022. Grand Erie employs about 375 Elementary Occasional Teachers across the district.

“We appreciate the spirit of partnership with which the Elementary Occasional Teachers Local approached the negotiations,” said Greg Anderson, Chair of the Grand Erie District School Board. “We have reached an agreement of benefit to both parties that will also allow us to plan ahead with greater clarity.”

“We extend our thanks to the leaders and members of the Elementary Occasional Teachers Local for working with us to reach this agreement,” said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education at Grand Erie. “It establishes labour certainty that allows stronger focus on building a culture of learning, well-being and belonging to inspire each learner.”

The agreement was ratified by Grand Erie’s Board of Trustees on Monday, November 22, and confirmed through Elementary Occasional Teacher Local membership voting over November 9-11.
