Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) is advising community members of new measles exposure locations in the region. Exposure to the measles virus may have occurred at the following locations, dates, times as indicated:
- Willett Urgent Care Centre, 238 Grand River St. N, Paris, on May 11, 2025, from 2:50 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Thrive AbleLiving (The Willett), 238 Grand River St. N, Paris, on May 11, 2025, from 2:50 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Brantford General Hospital A Wing Tim Hortons, 200 Terrace Hill St., Brantford, on May 11, 2025, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
If you were present at any of the above locations at the identified time(s) or you have been exposed to measles elsewhere in the community, please complete our measles exposure form at www.geph.ca/measlesform. The form will collect information to complete a risk assessment and provide appropriate guidance on next steps to reduce the chance of infection where possible and limit further spread of the virus.
Anyone born in or after 1970 who has not had a previous measles infection and who has not received two doses of a measles-containing vaccine is at risk of infection if exposed to the measles virus. Within 72 hours of exposure, administration of the MMR vaccine may reduce the risk of infection. Within 6 days of exposure, susceptible individuals at higher risk (including infants, pregnant individuals, and immunocompromised individuals) may be eligible to receive immunoglobulin which may prevent or reduce the severity of infection.
