David Bailey, Mayor for the County of Brant, issued a statement regarding the passing of Jack Bawcutt.
“On behalf of myself and the County of Brant Council, we share our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Jack Bawcutt. In 1956, he and his family immigrated to Paris, Ontario from England. Since this time, they have been community-builders and have helped shape the community we know and love today. Jack served the Paris community for seventeen years as Paris’ town Mayor. He volunteered for several local organizations including the Willet Urgent Care Centre, PrimaCare Community Family Health Team and the Presbyterian Church. We are fortunate to honor Jack’s contributions and legacy to the town of Paris through the Bawcutt Centre (Paris Old Town Hall). Jack was dedicated to the betterment of the community and will be greatly missed by many friends, family, neighbours and colleagues,” said Bailey.
The flag at the Paris downtown Council Chamber will be lowered to half-mast in Jack Bawcutt’s honour.
