On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Farringford Drive and Shalfleet Boulevard in regards to a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Officers arrived and located the vehicle stopped in the intersection. Police approached the vehicle and observed the accused, unconscious in the driver’s seat, with the vehicle running. The accused was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
After several attempts, officers were able to awaken the man. Upon speaking with the accused, signs of impairment were observed.
The accused was arrested for Operation while Impaired by Drug and read the demand to accompany police for the purpose of participating in sobriety tests conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert. The tests indicated that the accused was impaired.
As a result, a 21-year-old man from Fenlon Falls stands charged with Operation while Impaired (drug) – contrary to the Criminal Code.
Additionally, a license suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.
