Driver flees scene following two-vehicle collision

A resident from Caledon, Ontario is facing several charges after a two-vehicle collision on Second Line Road on Thursday, May 9, 2024.  

Six Nations Police along  with the Six Nations Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the  collision at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Thursday.

When officers arrived on scene, they were advised by bystanders that one of the drivers involved had attempted to flee on foot but was followed by another bystander who prevented the accused from leaving the scene.

Police approached the  male and observed injuries consistent with being involved in a collision. Police also observed signs of impairment on the male. The male was taken to a local area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He was later released from hospital and  was held in police custody. Both vehicles involved sustained heavy damage.  

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Amrik Singh SIDHU (32-years-old) of Caledon, Ontario with the following criminal offences: 

– Impaired Operation 

– Alcohol per se offence “80 plus”  

– Fail to Stop at Accident  

– Dangerous Driving  

– Operation while Prohibited  

– Breach Probation x 2  

The accused was held in custody pending a formal bail hearing. The vehicle was  impounded for 45 days.
