Driver charged during RIDE stop in County of Brant

Brant OPPDriver charged during RIDE stop in County of Brant

Members of the Brant County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on Highway 403 Wayne Gretzky Parkway at the eastbound off-ramp in the County of Brant at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

During the program, officers stopped a motor vehicle for the purpose of an impaired-driving investigation.

David VANLAREN, a 49‑year‑old from Brantford, Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused was subsequently released with a driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle being impounded. The accused is scheduled for a court appearance on March 8, 2026, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford.
