Driver charged during Brant County RIDE check

Brant OPPDriver charged during Brant County RIDE check

Members of the Brant County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on Grand River Street South in the County of Brant at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

During the program, officers stopped a motor vehicle for the purpose of an impaired-driving investigation.

Marina HAZELAAR, a 32‑year‑old from Brant County, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Upon completing all release and court documents the accused was released with a court appearance on May 21 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford.
