Arts and EntertainmentCulture Days coming to County of Brant this fall

Brant Celebrates Culture Days is coming to the County of Brant this fall and organizers are looking for participants.

“We are putting out a call across the County of Brant for those who participate in cultural activities, to join us for Brant Celebrates Culture Days,” said Kayla Cicman, Arts, Culture and Heritage Officer for the County of Brant. “A variety of community members are encouraged to take part; musicians, dancers, theatre performers, local historians, crafters, authors, culinary artists, as well as museums, heritage sites and more.”

The nationwide initiative “Culture Days” is Canada’s largest cross-country celebration of arts, culture, and creativity that runs from September 22, 2023 to October 15, 2023. Brant Celebrates Culture Days will invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities. All cultural groups or individuals are welcome to organize an event and participate. There is also the opportunity for participants to receive up to $1000 in funding to support their program.

Those interested in learning more about participating in Brant Celebrates Culture Days are invited to join staff for a free information session and workshop on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the County of Brant Council Chambers, 7 Broadway Street West, in Paris. You can also participate online via zoom at www.brant.ca/CultureDays

“This session will allow individuals to meet with other creatives and cultural groups in the community,” said Cicman. “We are hoping that together, we can help our community participate in and support local arts and culture!”
