Brant OPPCompany truck impounded after driver caught speeding

A 42-year-old Hamilton resident had their employer’s vehicle impounded for 45-days after they were stopped for speeding in the County of Brant.

An officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment initiated a traffic stop on Glen Morris Road West at approximately 11:33 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement, when they located a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped, and it was determined the delivery driver’s licence was prohibited due to a previous conviction.

Police have charged the 42-year-old from the City of Hamilton with offences under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The company vehicle was towed and impounded for 45-days.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford at a later date.
