Community Skate Exchange Program returns in December

City of BrantfordCommunity Skate Exchange Program returns in December

The City of Brantford is bringing back its Community Skate Exchange Program this December.

Residents can donate, exchange or pick-up a free pair of gently-used ice skates. The Community Skate Exchange program takes place each Wednesday from December 7 to December 14, 2022 and January 11 to February 15, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Harmony Square main office, located at 89 Dalhousie Street.

Community members in need of ice skates, or looking to exchange their old ones for a new size, are encouraged to attend.

“The City is pleased to help provide families an opportunity to get free ice skates so they can get out, have fun and stay active this winter season,” said Jennifer Middleton, Coordinator of Special Events for the City of Brantford. “We are grateful to the community for their donations that help make this program possible.”

Residents who would like to donate their gently-used ice skates can do so at one of the City’s drop-off locations during regular business hours:  Brantford Public Library, 173 Colborne Street, Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre, 333 Erie Avenue, Harmony Square, 89 Dalhousie Street, T.B Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre 16 Morrell Street, Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, 254 North Park Street, Woodman Park Community Centre, 491 Grey Street.
