Brantford Food BankCommunity members invited to Stuff the Bus in Brantford

The City of Brantford, in partnership with Brantford Fire, Hot Country 93.9, Seventh Coffee Co., FreshCo and the Brantford Food Bank, invite residents to stuff a Brantford Transit bus with donations for the Food Bank on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the FreshCo parking lot located at 50 Market Street.

Hot Country 93.9’s promotional team will be on location playing music and hosting a draw to win two sets of tickets to the Sanderson Centre for Classic Albums Live Performs Billy Joel – The Stranger (Friday, January 27, 2023 at 8 p.m.) and The Original Wailers (Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 8 p.m.) for those who donate. Seventh Coffee Co. will also be giving away free coffee samples.

“With the rising costs of groceries, our services are more in demand than ever,” said Heather Vanner, Executive Director of Community Resource Service. “We are grateful to the City of Brantford and Brantford Fire for once again organizing this event and bringing the community together to support those most in need.”

The goal for the day is to beat 2,416 pounds of food that was donated during the event in 2021. All donations are welcomed, but the following items are most in need:

  • canned fruit and vegetable
  • canned meat
  • peanut butter
  • dry pasta
  • canned soup
  • canned beans and stews
  • cereal and oatmeal
  • crackers
  • baby formula

When dropping off donations, join the conversation on social media by posting a photo using the hashtag #StuffTheBusBrantford. Together, we can make a difference.
