County of BrantCommunity Health Hub to open on Monday

Cowan Community Health Hub will officially open its doors to the public on Monday, November 29, 2021.

“We are so thrilled to announce the official opening of the Cowan Community Health Hub,” said County of Brant Mayor David Bailey. “The Health Hub will serve the community well and we have so many people to thank for the success of this great new community asset. Access to quality health care and social services is imperative for our residents, especially as our population continues to age.”

The Health Hub, located at 25 Curtis Ave. N., Paris, is designed to allow greater access to a variety of health and socials services under one roof. Services include: Alzheimer Society, Brant Community Services (Ontario Disability Support Program and Ontario Works), Brant Family and Children’s Services, Brantford Radiology, Cobblestone Medicine and Rehab Centre, Community Hub Pharmacy, Grand River Community Health Centre, Life Labs, Nova Vita, Participation Support Services, Paris Denture Clinic, Paris Heart Clinic, PrimaCare Community Family Health Team, and Sound Choice Hearing Health Services

The Health Hub cost $13 million dollars to build. A $2 million dollar fundraising campaign is almost 90% complete thanks to the generous donors.

“Without our donors, we wouldn’t be here today,” said Bailey. “We are so grateful for their generosity. We still have 10% left to raise in our campaign, so please donate if you can. Each donation matters, no matter how big or small.” All donations are recognized on the donor wall in the Health Hub.

The County of Brant would also like to recognize and thank Norlon Builders London who collaborated with Edge Architects to construct the green state-of-the-art health facility.

“We are committed to meet the growing needs of our charming community and implement practices that help protect the environment,” said Bailey. “This building beautifully represents both of these commitments.”

The 41,365 square foot Hub is comprised of sustainable design features such as a vegetated “green” roof, highly insulated building envelope, solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and energy efficient fixtures and equipment.
