City of Brantford, in partnership with Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO), will be hosting a Seniors Resource Fair on Tuesday, October 1, 2025.

The event, which will help celebrate International Seniors’ Day, will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre. This free event will feature a wide range of resources and services that help seniors live well, stay connected, and remain active participants in the community.

“The OACAO is proud to partner with the City of Brantford for the Seniors Resource Fair in celebration of International Seniors Day. This event connects older adults with essential programs and services, helping to reduce isolation and encourage healthy, active aging. We are grateful to the City of Brantford and the Government of Ontario for their support in empowering seniors and helping our communities thrive,” said Sue Hesjedahl, Executive Director of the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO).

The Seniors Resource Fair will showcase over 35 senior-serving community partners offering a variety of resources and services for attendees to explore, learn more about and ask questions. Partners include Canadian Mental Health Association, Community Legal Clinic Brant Haldimand Norfolk, Service Canada, the Alzheimer Society, the Grand River Council on Aging and more. The Fair will also offer engaging presentations on various topics, such as Aging with Intention, Safe Winter Driving and Fire Safety at Home, as well as hands-on opportunities for seniors to take part in health clinics and demonstrations, including a blood pressure clinic and hearing screening.

“We are thrilled that the City of Brantford is re-introducing a Seniors Resource Fair and that it is being held on October 1, which is National Seniors Day in Canada. We encourage all older adults and their families to attend,” added Lucy Marco, Executive Director of the Grand River Council on Aging.

Attendees are asked to check-in at the registration desk upon arrival to receive a complimentary bag to collect resource materials, while supplies last.
