City of Brantford installs pop-up patio in Harmony Square

City of BrantfordCity of Brantford installs pop-up patio in Harmony Square

City of Brantford has installed a temporary pop-up patio along Colborne Street East, beside Harmony Square, which will remain in place for several weeks this summer.

The Harmony Square Pop-up Patio offers a welcoming place for residents and visitors to relax, connect, and enjoy live entertainment in Harmony Square.

One of the goals in the City of Brantford’s 2024-2031 Economic Development Strategy is to “transform downtown into a destination that residents are proud of”.

In many other municipalities, street patios have helped enhance the energy and liveliness of downtown spaces. The City of Brantford’s Economic Development, Tourism and Cultural Initiatives Department launched the Harmony Square Pop-up Patio as a pilot project to assess the potential gain it might bring to downtown businesses and to help City staff determine how to best assist business owners that are interested in installing their own street patios.

The location of the pop-up patio was selected due to its proximity to several downtown businesses, City Hall, Harmony Square, and Wilfrid Laurier University Brantford Campus.
