City of BrantfordCity of Brantford expands traffic cabinet wrap program

City of Brantford has expanded its traffic cabinet wrap program to include new original designs created by regional artists.

This initiative builds on the City’s existing traffic cabinet wrap program, which features historical photographs and helps deter graffiti while enhancing the vibrancy and character of public spaces throughout the city.

The artwork featured on this year’s traffic cabinet wraps was created by regional artists in a variety of mediums such as digital art, gouache painting, and more. The artwork is printed on graffiti-resistant vinyl wraps and has an estimated lifespan of ten years.

“Programs such as this one not only provide a public platform for artists but also contribute to a dynamic and accessible arts scene,” said Adrienne Briggs, Arts and Culture Coordinator for the City of Brantford. “In this way, we can make art an integral part of daily life for both residents and visitors.”

Traffic cabinet wraps transform ordinary street infrastructure into engaging public art that serves multiple purposes. Beyond beautifying the urban landscape and deterring graffiti, these vibrant installations foster civic pride and a unique sense of place by often reflecting local history, culture, or natural beauty.

The traffic cabinet wraps can now be viewed on the City’s website at www.Brantford.ca/TrafficCabinets or at the following locations, with additional locations to be added next year:

  • West Street and Edmondson Street
  • King George Road and Kent Road
  • Brant Avenue and Church Street
  • Colborne Street East and Forest Road
  • Shellard Lane and Flanders Drive
