Over the weekend, staff from the City of Brantford received a report indicating damage to the play structure and disc golf net at the Turtle Pond Park playground.

Upon learning of the incident, an assessment of the playground was conducted by staff and the decision was made to close down the large yellow spiral slide and upper platform for the public’s safety. The remainder of the playground has been deemed safe for use.

City staff are working diligently to expedite the repairs and restoration process to the damaged slide and disc golf net. Enhanced security measures will be implemented to deter future acts of vandalism.

The City is asking community members that may have witnessed any suspicious activity or who may have any information related to this incident, to please come forward. Your assistance could greatly aid our efforts to resolve this matter swiftly and hold those responsible accountable.
