Brant OPPCaledonia resident facing Impaired Driving charges

A Caledonia resident is facing charges following a traffic stop on Highway 403 in the County of Brant.

On September 3, 2023, a member of the public called police to advise that they were following a fellow motorist that they suspected to be impaired. 

At approximately 6:29 p.m., a Brant OPP officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Upon speaking to the driver of the vehicle, the officer determined that the driver was impaired. The driver was transported to detachment for further testing.

Joseph BIJO, 34-years-old of Caledonia, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired and,
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on September 14, 2023.
