Brant OPPCaledonia resident charged after collision with parked car

A 32-year-old from Caledonia has been arrested and charged with impaired driving after colliding with an unoccupied parked vehicle in Paris early Sunday morning.

A Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member responded to a reported collision on Paris Links Road at approximately 12:02 a.m. on Sunday August 27, 2023,

It was determined a vehicle was traveling on Paris Links Road when it struck an unoccupied parked vehicle on the roadway. One person was arrested and transported to Brantford Police Service for testing.

Police have charged 32-year-old Matthew Donald VANDENHEUVEL, from the Town of Caledonia with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
