Brantford BulldogsBulldogs signs D Niko Krmpotic to OHL Scholarship

Brantford Bulldogs signed D Niko Krmpotic to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Krmpotic comes to the Bulldogs from his hometown Georgetown Raiders of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). Having skated in 49 games in his first year of junior eligibility the 6’1”, 185lbs left shot defenceman has posted two goals and nine assists for 11 points.

Known for combining slick skating, a strong first pass and physical presence, Krmpotic is an exciting addition to the Bulldogs blueline.

A ninth round selection, 169th overall, in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft, Krmpotic continues a very valuable pipeline to the Halton Hills Hurricanes U16AAA program, where the Bulldogs drafted captain Lawson Sherk and goaltender Matteo Drobac.

Krmpotic skated in 36 games in the 2022-23 season scoring four goals and adding 15 assists for 19 points while showing his leadership abilities, serving as an assistant captain.

“Niko Krmpotic is a player we are very excited about as an organization and we are very happy to receive his commitment,” said Matt Turek, General Manaager of the Brantford Bulldogs. “Niko is  a player who impressed us with his skills, intelligence and character immediately and he has continued to build on it over the season. We are excited to watch Niko’s continued  progress and see him as a large part of the Bulldogs moving forward.”
