Brantford to offer Summer Day Camps

City of Brantford will be holding Summer Day Camps, which will run from July 4 to September 2, 2022 for children ages 4 to 14.

In addition, Woodman Park Community Centre, located at 491 Grey Street, will offer Youth Leadership Development Programs in July and August. Online registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at brantford.ca/RecConnect.

“Our dynamic recreation team is working hard at planning a fun line-up of exciting themes and activities for campers this year,” said Lori-Dawn Cavin, Manager, Community Recreation and Events. “The summer season is an exciting time for children and we are thrilled to offer them quality, safe and fun recreational and leadership opportunities across the City.”

Pre-registration is required through Brantford.ca/RecConnect and limited spots are available. Registration begins online on Wednesday, April 20 at 7:30 a.m. In person registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Please note that all programming is subject to change depending on provincially mandated COVID-19 safety protocols in place at the time of camp.

Financial assistance is available for those who qualify through the Can We Help program. For Can We Help, please reference the Financial Assistance Chart to determine eligibility and fill out the Can We Help Financial Assistance Application to apply. Day Camps locations and details

The Bell Homestead National Historic Site, located at 94 Tutela Heights Road, will offer an Over a Century of Connections and World Explorers to children ages 4 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy a variety of games, activities, crafts and more inspired by life in 1910 in July and the National Geographic magazines in August. Free extended care will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Branlyn Community Centre, located at 238 Brantwood Park Road, will offer a Summer Day Camp for children ages 4 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy a variety of games, activities, crafts and more. Free extended care will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre, located at 333 Erie Avenue, will offer a Summer Day Camp for children ages 4 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy a variety of games, activities, crafts and more. Free extended care will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Earl Haig Family Fun Park, located at 101 Market Street South, will offer an Aquatic Summer Day Camp for children ages 6 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy structured swimming, a variety of fun games, activities, crafts and more. Free extended care will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre, located at 16 Morrell Street, will offer a Summer Day Camp for children ages 4 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy a variety of games, activities, crafts and more. Free extended care will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, located at 254 North Park Street, will offer an Aquatic Summer Day Camp for children ages 6 to 12 years from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy swimming daily, outdoor sports, games, crafts and more. Free extended care will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Woodman Park Community Centre, located at 491 Grey St, will offer a Summer Day Camp for children ages 4 to 12 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Campers can enjoy a variety of games, activities, crafts and more. Please note swimming will not be offered in 2022. Free extended care will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.In addition, this location will offer a Youth Leadership Development Program for youth ages 13 to 16 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended care is not available for this program. This two-week leader-in-training program will include one week of in-class training and a second week utilizing skills learned in a City-run Day Camp. High School Community Service Volunteer Hours will apply and registrants will receive a special certificate from the Mayor’s office for those who have completed both Level 1 and Level 2.
