The City of Brantford, in partnership with the Brantford Youth Council (BYC), will be hosting free activities to celebrate National Youth Week from May 1 to 7, 2022.

Activities include fun and engaging virtual and in-person activities for youth ages 12 to 17, with daily prizes and a grand prize draw for a $50.00 iTunes gift card for participating.

“We look forward to recognizing Brantford youth for their active participation and engagement in our community,” said Kim Rolson, Community Recreation Supervisor for the City of Brantford. “The City of Brantford, designated as a Youth Friendly Community, strives to connect youth with others by creating fun, inclusive safe spaces.”

Brantford youth are invited to Woodman Park Community Centre, located at 491 Grey Street, for a Sea Turtle Escape Paint Night on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. or to play a game of Star Wars Dodgeball on Wednesday, May 4 at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required for both activities at brantford.ca/RecConnect. Youth can finish the week off with a virtual Kahoot trivia game night on Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. Starting, May 2 until May 5, guess how many candies are in the jar on social media at facebook.com/BrantfordYouthCouncil or instagram.com/BrantfordYouthCouncil and join the conversation by using hashtag #BYCYouthWeek2022.

Participants will have their name automatically entered into a draw for each event joined and the grand prize draw which will take place on Friday, May 6. A full list of activity details can be found at brantford.ca/YOUth.

The City of Brantford, a designated Youth-Friendly Community, focuses on empowering Youth as a key component of the City of Brantford’s Youth Strategy working to ensure youth have access to a diversity of opportunities, including sport, recreation, arts, volunteerism, leadership development, and civic engagement.
