City of BrantfordBrantford staff receive award from Business Improvement Area

City of Brantford received the Golden Broom award, encouraging a clean community and a cleaner downtown during the Downtown Brantford Business Improvement Area (DBBIA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on November 24, 2022.

Achieving the Golden Broom recognizes the hard work Operational Services staff have done this year and demonstrates the City’s dedication to keep our downtown streets clean.

A team of three staff members is responsible for litter and garbage clean up, sidewalk sweeping, graffiti removal, and snow and ice clearing in the downtown core. The team often interacts with both visitors and residents, being called upon to provide directions and information about Brantford.

“This was a really proud moment for the Operational Services team who has worked hard to make a difference in helping beautify the downtown, and I want to thank the BIA for this acknowledgement,” said Mark Jacklyn, Director of Operational Services for the City of Brantford. “It is our sincere hope that others in the community will be inspired by our example and do their part to keep the community clean.”
