The Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition (Sports Hall), in partnership with the Sports Hall Selection and Executive Committees, is pleased to announce this year’s Class of 2024 Inductees.
The following individuals will be honoured at the annual Sports Hall Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 and will be showcased in the Sports Hall, located in the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre:
- Patrick Murphy – Inductee, Builder in the sport of Wrestling
- Garrett Riley – Inductee, Athlete: Para Ice Hockey
- Rick and Sandy Beedham – Honourees, Builders in the sport of Volleyball
- Henry Brydges Yates – Honouree, for his contribution of the Yates Cup as a Builder in the sport of Football
The 2024 Sports Hall Induction Ceremony will take place at the Best Western Brantford Hotel and Conference Centre on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in attending are strongly encouraged to reserve tickets online by Monday June 3, 2024 at https://bit.ly/3xUef39.
About the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition
The Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition, located inside the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, proudly recognizes both Athletes and Sport Builders in Brantford, the County of Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who have achieved the highest standards of excellence in their chosen sport.
The Sports Hall features various artefact and memorabilia displays honouring the hometown heroes that have contributed to sport in their communities. The 3,000 sq. ft. space features the Wayne Gretzky tribute area with Mini Theatre highlighting memorable moments from the Great One’s career, an Interactive Inductee Zone, Wall of Recognition, Trivia Game and Broadcast Booth.
