Brantford resident charged with Impaired Driving after traffic stop

Brant OPPBrantford resident charged with Impaired Driving after traffic stop

A 42-year-old from Brantford is facing charges after a Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member initiated a traffic stop on Powerline Road in the County of Brant on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

An officer with the Brant County OPP was conducting proactive patrols in the town of Paris when they located a vehicle stopped in a live lane at approximately 9:26 p.m.

Police initiated a traffic stop where one person was arrested and transported to Brant County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 42-year-old Robert Jeremy KEARNS, from Brantford with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor and

·        Fail to have insurance card.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
