Brantford man wins $250,000 on crossword ticket

Local NewsBrantford man wins $250,000 on crossword ticket

Guarav Sharma of Brantford won $250,000 on a crossword instant scratch ticket.

Sharma, a father of two, is a loyal fan of INSTANT CROSSWORD. For the past six years, he has made sure to pick up a ticket every Friday. His dedication to the classic word game has now led him to his first big win.

“I played my ticket at the store,” said Sharma, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his winnings. “I initially thought I’d won $2,500 and was left shaking. My friend was outside waiting for me, so I called for him to come inside quickly. When I came to the realization that I’d actually won the $250,000 top prize, I was shocked.”

“I shared the good news with my parents, and at first, they couldn’t process what I was telling them,” continued Sharma. “After repeating myself a few times, they were just as shocked as I was, and super happy. This win will help me and my family significantly. I look forward to paying off my parents’ mortgage, sharing with my children, and investing. This has been a truly unreal and out-of-this-world experience.”
