Brantford man charged with Impaired Operation

On Friday, November 26, 2021, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were on routine patrol in the area of Dalhousie Street at Queen Street when they observed a suspicious vehicle.
Officers attended to the vehicle, which was running, and observed both the driver and the passenger in what appeared to be an unconscious state.
Officers woke the driver and when speaking with the accused, observed signs of impairment. Drug paraphernalia was observed in clear view.
The accused was subsequently arrested for operation while impaired by drug.
The accused was brought before a Drug Recognition Expert and performed poorly.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with Impaired Operation contrary to the Criminal Code. 
Additionally, a licence suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.
