City of BrantfordBrantford looking to fill vacancy on council

City of Brantford is starting their search to fill their vacancy on council after the resignation of councillor Rick Weaver last week.

The City is now accepting applications to fill the current Ward 1 Councillor vacancy. The term for this position will run from appointment by City Council until a new Council is sworn in after the 2022 Municipal Election.

Brantford City Council will appoint a successful candidate during a special City Council meeting on December 11, 2021. Qualified individuals are invited to submit the following documentation in person to the City Clerk at Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street, Brantford, Ontario, N3T 2J2:

  • Nomination Paper
  • Endorsement of Nomination
  • Council Vacancy Resume
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
  • Freedom of Information (FOI) Release Form (to be completed at time of filing)

All required forms are available electronically at www.Brantford.ca/CouncilVacancy or for pick up at the City’s customer service counter at Brantford City Hall. 

Applications close on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2 p.m.
