Brantford hires new Director of Fleet and Transit Services

Mike Spicer has been hired as the City of Brantford’s new Director of Fleet and Transit Services, effective March 6, 2023.

Spicer brings a wealth of knowledge to the role with over 20 years of experience in the transit industry, including, overseeing conventional, specialized and on-demand transit services.

Spicer returns to the City of Brantford after having once served as the City’s Manager of Transit Operations in 1998. Since then, he has held various progressive leadership roles in both the public and private sector before returning home to Brantford.

“I look forward to working closely with Mike to revitalize the City’s Transit system, beginning with the Transit Optimization Study,” said Inderjit Hans, the City’s General Manager of Public Works. “Mike will be integral to leading the development of new service level standards, policy updates, and strengthening relationships with our ridership. This is a very exciting time for Brantford Transit and Mike’s extensive experience will be vital to move all of these important initiatives forward.”

“I am very excited about my return to Brantford Transit,” added Spicer. “The City has grown tremendously and to now have the opportunity to help shape our transit operations into a more modern, safer and more reliable transportation system is something I am eager and enthusiastic to take on. Brantford Transit has a great team of passionate professional operators and the key to our success will be working together to make our transit system something our community can not only rely on, but also be proud of.”
