Brantford driver caught going 98 km/h over speed limit

Brant OPPBrantford driver caught going 98 km/h over speed limit

A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Colborne Street East in the County of Brant after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed at approximately 9:04 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2026.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling 178 km/h in a posted 80 km/h posted speed zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old driver from Brantford has been charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding – 145 km/h in an 80 km/h Zone

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation.
